From the Desk of Cindy Dittus, MCADV Board President
On behalf of the board and with a combination of happiness for her and sadness for us, I am writing to share that Dr. Wendy Mahoney will be leaving the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence in September of this year.
Wendy has worn many hats during the time she has been the Executive Director at MCADV and will be greatly missed. She has brought transformational change to the organization on many levels. From growing the budget, staff and services, Wendy assisted the organization in establishing the information and referral legal services program to support survivors throughout the state. Other programs include the Teen Dating Violence pilot project, Teen Advisory Council, Engaging Men: Stand Up Guy project, and the relationships with colleges, universities, and organizations to enhance growth for interns and fellows.
Dr. Mahoney has been the face of the Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Mississippi over the past 10 productive years. Wendy has been instrumental in raising awareness about domestic violence in Mississippi through media engagement, public awareness, communications, training, and technical assistance. She has been a champion for ensuring services that meet the needs of all victims, including people of color, men, LGBTQ+, and people with disabilities. Dr. Mahoney believes that when resources and services are designed so even the most marginalized victim can access them, services for all victims improve.
Dr. Mahoney has been an essential leader of the organization by establishing procedures and policies that strengthened and moved MCADV forward. She has led the expansion of staff and programs. Wendy has proven to be a leader in the domestic violence world locally and nationally.
Thank you, Wendy, for your incredible contributions to the agency. We will certainly miss you, and we hope you enjoy your future adventures!
All the best,
