Myth-Busting: A Day in the Life of a Domestic Violence Victim
Because MCADV is not able to come to every domestic violence event in October, we wanted to bring awareness to YOU! “Myth Busting: A Day in the Life of a Domestic Violence Victim” will help you or your organization understand the dynamics of domestic violence, including the different forms of abuse and why some victims don’t “just leave,” and what you can do to help victims of domestic violence.

Come hear from our dynamic speaker, Lavon Morris-Grant. After surviving being shot in the head by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself, Grant has spent the last 15 years of her life traveling the globe in order to educate people about the causes, effects and recovery from domestically violence situations. Her book, Whom Shall I Fear: A Spiritual Journey of a Battered Woman, is a “powerful story of how women find ways to rebuild their lives and reclaim their dreams.”

Lavon Morris-Grant is a native of New Jersey, and graduate of New Jersey City University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She is a Board member of the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and a internationally known speaker on topics related to abuse, overcoming adversity and rising to the top. She resides in upstate New York with her three children.
