Together, we have the strength! PURCHASE TICKETS TODAY   Bishop Swanson has contributed tremendously to the effort to end domestic violence in the state of Mississippi. Since Bishop Swanson’s appointment to the Mississippi Conference in 2012, he has used his personal experience with domestic violence to bring awareness and education to congregations throughout the state. This was developed through the creation of the Mississippi Conference Domestic Violence Task Force. The mission of the Task Force is to cultivate congregations and communities which foster healthy, loving and violence-free relationships. Under Bishop’s leadership, the Task Force has devised a church covenant, conducted clergy and lay leaders trainings, fostered connections with local shelter programs, assisted in getting support and resources to those in abusive relationships, raised awareness, and partnered with Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence as a Friend of the Coalition as well as gathered over 500 individual pledges for the campaign, Take The Pledge, to end domestic violence. Bishop Swanson also wrote an article, “The Day I Lost Momma.” You can read the full article here.
