7th Annual Purple for Peace
Purple for Peace info

Join us for this year’s Purple for Peace luncheon! This event promotes family violence prevention in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The theme for this year’s celebration is Crossties: Communities Unifying to End Domestic Violence. Purchase tickets below. Tickets are $35 in advance, and $40 at the door.

This year’s Purple Peace Prize honoree is Heather’s T.R.E.E., an organization which was founded in the wake of Heather Spencer’s tragic death at the hands of her boyfriend in 2007. Heather’s T.R.E.E. focuses on Training, Resources, Education and Empowerment regarding domestic violence and how to help yourself or a loved one who finds themselves in an abusive situation.

Our speaker is Kim Gandy, the President and CEO of National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), a social change organization that is dedicated to creating a social, political and economic environment in which violence against women no longer exists.

The Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence will also honor members of the community who have contributed to the movement against domestic violence. The honorees are Yolanda Evans, Judge Toni Terrett, and Beth McCord.

Tickets are no longer available for purchase online. Tickets will be available at the door for $40.
